Visited an event in Glastonbury today, for young people and children, run by Childrens World. It was inspiring. A diverse group of kids who did a wonderful presentation showcasing an impressive range of skills, all supported by some really committed volunteers. The charity, Childrens World, provides a great range of activities for all kids, but has a particularly positive impact with those from more challenging backgrounds. The Town Council and Mayor were there providing loads of encouragement and support. A visit like that lifts you for the rest of the day. #childrensworldglastonbury #glastonburytowncouncil #indradonfrancesco #mendiptimes ... See MoreSee Less

Despite the weather we had a wonderful time at our Easter Extravaganza event 2024 😊We were thrilled to be joined by The Mayor of Glastonbury, Cllr Indra Don Francesco, www.facebook.com/indra.donfranceso, Deputy Mayor of Glastonbury Cllr Lokabandhu, Chair of the Youth Committee Cllr Michael White and the High Sheriff of Somerset, Rob Beckley QPM.Our amazing Youth Committee provided outstanding entertainment and fun was had by all with Green Screen filming, Craft with Yeast Scrapstore, Bubble Fun with Steve Apelt Productions and an Easter egg hunt 🐥🐰🥚(choccy kindly donated by Tescos, Morrisons, Co-Op and families of our Youth Committee 🙏)There were treats galore with Hot Cross Buns and Easter Biscuits, generously supplied by Burns The Bread, yummy Easter crispie cakes lovingly made by our family friends of the Charity and wonderful raffle prizes were won by all 🙌We would like to say thank you to all our lovely volunteers for their time and huge efforts, and thank you to all of the local organisations that generously donated, not forgetting a big thank you to the lovely members of our local community that joined us on the day. It goes without saying that we are extremely proud of our Youth Committee. Not only did they have direct involment in the planning and delivery of the event, but were also the absolute stars of the show 🌟✨A big thank you is due to the Glastonbury & Chilkwell Guy Fawkes Carnival Committee for their unwavering support, Glastonbury Town Council Youth Provision Commmittee for providing financial support for this event and the wonderful Abbey House and their amazing staff Without all of this support the event would not have been possible 🙏In the meantime watch this space for our Easter Extravaganza green screen film. See if you can spot yourself in the film and message our page or email the charity to tell us about how you feel about being a star yourself. We'd love to hear your views 👂😊Lastly we would like to say a final thank you to Mark Adler of the Mendip Times. He joined us on the day and will soon be publishing a story, showcasing the event, in The Mendip Times, out on 23rd April.Thank you all and we can't wait to see you all again next year 😁. ...
