Why We Exist

At Children’s World, we believe that creativity, play and performance can change lives. Everything we do is rooted in one simple truth: when children are having fun, they learn, grow and feel included.

The Power of Creativity: From Early Foundation to Adolescent Growth

We know that early childhood (0-5 years) is the most critical window for human development. The First 2,000 Days Framework emphasises the importance of early experiences, with 90% of brain development occurring within this period (Microeconomic Insights).

These formative years lay the bedrock for long-term health, education, and life success. But our commitment doesn't stop at the early years. As children transition into adolescence, creative expression becomes vital for identity formation, navigating complex social landscapes, and developing the resilience needed for adulthood. Whether through a toddler's first song or a teenager’s collaborative performance, arts and culture are the essential tools we use to unlock this potential:

Cognitive & Academic Growth

Engagement in the arts stimulates critical thinking and problem-solving. Studies consistently show that high-quality arts participation boosts language, literacy, and numeracy, providing the building blocks for school success.

Social & Emotional Wellbeing

Through music, drama, and visual arts, young people build confidence and emotional literacy. These activities provide a safe space to express complex feelings and strengthen the sense of belonging and connectedness—crucial for both young children and developing teens.

Communication & Identity

The arts give every child a voice. By exploring storytelling and creative play, they expand their vocabulary and self-expression, fostering the self-assurance needed to navigate the world with curiosity and empathy.

We exist to:

Champion the holistic wellbeing of children and young people, prioritising those with the greatest need for support.

Enrich the lives of all children with diverse support requirements or those facing systemic barriers, providing a sanctuary to explore, express, and thrive.

Cultivate confidence and self-worth through creative experiences that celebrate the unique strengths and perspectives of every child.

Design truly inclusive spaces where young people of all abilities, backgrounds, and identities can collaborate, play, and create as equals.

Dismantle the barriers between diverse learning and social environments, fostering genuine

connections and mutual understanding that benefit every young person.

Nurture empathy and dismantle prejudice, empowering the next generation to embrace neurodiversity and difference with curiosity and respect.

Deliver high-quality, inclusive workshops, educational opportunities, and family events, kept low cost or free whenever possible—to ensure every child can participate fully, regardless of their socio-economic circumstances & inspire communities to embrace inclusion as a standard, ensuring every young person feels valued, seen, and empowered to participate.

Commit to continuous evolution, actively listening to the voices of those we serve and pioneering innovative approaches to enhance our impact.

While our work addresses serious challenges, fun is always at the heart of it. Joy, laughter and creativity open the door to confidence, learning and belonging - and every child deserves the chance to experience that.
