Living History Tudor Tour
Through drama, dance, discussion and role-play students can begin to understand what it must have been like to live in the "Golden Age of Discovery". The 2-day workshops cover:
The workshops are completed with a recap session and discussions as to whether the children would prefer to live in Tudor or modern times, & why they have made that decision. Session details: The 2 days of workshops, run by the 4-person Children's World team, are made up of 6 sessions. Sessions 1-4 are performed with 4 different groups of 15-30 children. Sessions 5 and 6 are performed with all 60-120 children. Therefore each of the 60-120 children receives 5 hours of participatory workshops in total. In this way the smaller groups have information to show and teach the others in the finale after the Banquet. All material for the "Living History" Tudors Tour has been based on the National Curriculum. "I write to thank Children's World for the wonderful Tudor production. The children gained so much from taking part...it is surely the best way to teach History - to take the children back in time and allow them to meet the characters...the costumes, the characters and the sets that you brought to the school were truly wonderful - far more than we could do for ourselves. The whole experience was entertaining, motivating and thought-provoking, therefore high quality learning took place."
