This is Children's World's 21st anniversary year, and it has been a very good one, with a great deal of excellent work taking place. We have run 3 very successful SPECIAL SCHOOLS TOURS: a Drama & Creative Play Tour for children with severe learning difficulties & profound and multiple difficulties; a Problem-Solving Video Tour for children with moderate learning difficulties & emotional and behavioural difficulties; and an Integration Puppetry Workshop Weeks Tour for special schools and their neighbouring mainstream schools.

Now that more and more children with special needs are being included in mainstream education, Children's World is broadening still further its MAINSTREAM WORKSHOPS. As well as our already successful workshops addressing Bullying, Peer Pressure and Inclusion in mainstream schools, we have this year been running Problem-Solving workshops & Transition workshops, as well as running Games Trainings for Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants.

We are currently working on an INTERACTIVE INCLUSION CD PACKAGE providing songs, games & exercises for teachers to use in classroom situations that allow, and indeed promote, Inclusion - this will be published in early 2003. We are also working on creating VIDEO PACKAGES which can be used by teachers to jump-start and assist classroom discussions on bullying, teamwork, shared responsibilities, etc., which will hopefully prove helpful to school with the new PSHE and Citizenship curricula.

Children's World ran 3 very successful CHILDREN'S FESTIVALS during the 2002 summer holidays: a 3-day event in Glastonbury, a 4-day event in Bristol and a special 1-day event in Bridgwater, commissioned by Sure Start - all of which were very much enjoyed by the large numbers of children and families that attended. As it was such a busy summer we undertook fewer out-of-school play packages than usual, but we hope to build this work up again next year. Feedback from schools and special schools has been excellent in this, the Charity's 21st anniversary year.

Morale is high, and we look forward to developing and expanding the Charity's exciting, innovative and valuable work even further in the years to come.
