PRESS RELEASE

IT’S CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL TIME AGAIN!

Summer wouldn’t be summer without Children’s World’s wonderful Children’s Festivals – the 8th BRISTOL CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL will be taking place on 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th August on Durdham Downs (just past he Water Tower, between Stoke Road and Saville Road), and the 26th GLASTONBURY CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL will be on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th August at Glastonbury’s Abbey Park Playground. Both events run from 11am to 5pm on each of their 4 days and are jam-packed with performance, participation and fun for children and their families.

Almost 20 different shows from jugglers, clowns, puppeteers, magicians and children’s theatre companies take place each day in the popular Theatre/Puppetry Marquee and on the Outside Stage.

But it’s not all about performance – participation workshops are a large part of the fun – at both events - children can make their own bean bags to take home, can learn juggling and other circus skills, there are clay pottery workshops and hula hoop workshops, and they can also design and make their own badge, or go and play instruments in the Music Free Dome.

There’s also a large Craft Marquee, where children can choose from a host of colourful materials and make hats, masks and costumes for each day’s Grand Parade. There’s a daily Talent Show where children can show off new-found skills learnt at the Festival or a favourite “party piece”, with each child receiving a Certificate of Merit and a tiny prize. And there are bouncy castles, a ball pool, a giant inflatable slide and a Velcro wall as well as parachute games and more…….

Prices are a reasonable £8 daily for 5-12 year olds; £6 daily for adults, teenagers and 3-4 year olds; £3 for toddlers; with children with special needs only £5 daily to include carer. Be sure to come early and stay late – there really is a lot to do!

All profits will help fund the Children’s World Charity’s extensive work in Somerset and Avon special schools.
