Children's World runs two Children's Festivals each summer to provide performance, participation and fun for children and their families.

BRISTOL CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL

29, 30, 31 July and 1 Aug 2005

on Durdham Downs, Bristol (between Stoke Road & Saville Road)

11.00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each of the 4 days

GLASTONBURY CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL

5, 6, 7 and 8 August 2005

at the Abbey Park Playground, Fishers Hill, Glastonbury

10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on each of the 4 days

These lovely Children's Festivals fulfil many of the Charity's aims by providing high quality entertainment and fun at reasonable prices -and they also raise much-needed funds for Children's World's special needs workshops, which run throughout the year.

We love the idea that by children having fun at our Children's Festivals, they can raise money to help other children have fun.

Once the entrance fee has been paid, all the performances, workshops and activities run by Children's World are free of charge. (There are some good quality stalls and cafes on site, which obviously make charges, but we ensure that these are reasonable -you are most welcome to bring your own picnic lunches, by the way, though not your dogs. These are daytime festivals - there is no camping available, but the local Tourist Information Office (Bristol - 0117 9 260767 and Glastonbury 01458 832954 would be able to give you the number of local B & B's and campsites if you are coming from outside the area and would like to stay to attend more than one day. Children must be accompanied by an adult - we are not a creche!)

On each Children's Festival day there are 20 live performances in the Performance Marquee, on the Outside Stage and in the Arena, from clowns, children's theatre companies, jugglers, story-tellers, puppeteers and more.

There are juggling and circus skills workshops, badge-making, face-painting, a giant "Monster Ball", inflatables to bounce on, a giant inflatable slide, ball pool, clay workshops, and giant inflatable animals to dance and play with.

There is a large Craft Marquee where children can make hats, masks and costumes for each day's Grand Parade, and a daily Talent Show where children can perform some new circus skill they have learnt at the Festival or a favourite "Party Piece", with each entrant earning a Certificate of Merit and tiny prize.

Sadly we have had to put the prices up a bit (after 3 years of remaining at the same price), but the Children's Festivals still offer extremely good value for money for so many hours of non-stop, quality entertainment and fun. We recommend you come early and stay late, to get full value for your money.
