22nd Glastonbury Children's Festival 2003




A feast of performance, participation and fun

10.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Abbey Park Playground, Glastonbury
1, 2, 3 & 4 August 2003

On each day there were more than 20 performances in the Marquee, on the Outside Stage and in the Arena:
  • brilliant puppetry from Parachute Theatre Company
  • chaotic clowning from Rudi Wallenda & his Exploding Car
  • stories and a new ecological play from Blue Moon Theatre
  • hysterical comedy and high skill juggling from Haggis & Charlie
  • Tip the Wink Puppet Company's wonderful shows "Anna & the Whale" & "Never Trust a Squirrel"
  • the youthful & brilliant Rhythm Project
  • the World Music Choir
  • all the way from New Zealand, Dragonfly Mime Company with Timeless Tales
(all these on all 4 days); and then on different days fun & frolics from the fantastic Foolhardy Folk (1st), mayhem & comedy from Circus Fudge (2nd), music, theatre & cabaret from the Theatre of Adventure (3rd & 4th), and corking shows from a clown (3rd & 4th).

There were workshops in Circus and Juggling Skills with Bosco Circus, percussion workshops with the Rhythm Project, and Hat, Mask and Costume making workshops in the Craft Marquee so that you are beautifully dressed for each day's Grand Parade. Design and make your own badge and have your face painted and make something beautiful out of clay to take home. Come and perform in each day's Talent Show and receive a Certificate of Merit & a small prize! Large Scale Fun is available: be rolled over by Co-Ordinated Chaos's Monster Ball and dance with Anne Harris' Menagerie of Giant Inflatable Animals.

Plus masses of other activities - leap at the Velcro Wall, bounce on the Inflatable Airbeds, wallow in the Ball Pools, whizz down the Giant Inflatable Slide……

£6 DAILY FOR CHILDREN (or £20 for all 4 days) £4 DAILY FOR ADULTS (or £12 for 4 days) & £4 DAILY FOR UNDER-5's (or £12 for all 4 days) (Concessions for large families, groups, UB40's, students, OAP's & babies) Child with special needs, to include carer £5.

ONCE THE ENTRANCE FEE HAS BEEN PAID, ALL THE ABOVE PERFORMANCES, WORKSHOPS & ACTIVITIES ARE FREE! SO COME NICE & EARLY TO ENJOY ALL THE FUN!
