THE 3RD BRISTOL CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL

WILL TAKE PLACE ON
2, 3, 4 & 5 AUGUST 2002
ON THE BRISTOL DOWNS

This will be the 3rd Bristol Children's Festival. This lovely event proved so successful in 2000 and 2001, that we are extending its length to 4 days this year!

On each of the 4 days there will be more than 20 different performances in the Marquee on the Outside Stage and in the Arena from a huge variety of high-class entertainers - children's theatre, puppetry, magic, story-telling, percussion, juggling and circus skills and more........

In addition to the many different performances, there will be a Craft Marquee, where children can make hats, masks and costumes to wear in each day's Grand Parade. There will also be percussion workshops from The Rhythm Project and juggling and circus skills workshops from Bosco Circus. There will be inflatables to bounce on, a velcro wall to leap at, ball pools to wallow in, giant inflatable animals to dance with, badge-making, face-painting and more, including a daily Talent Show where each participantk receives a Certificate of Merit and a tiny prize.

Performers booked so far include Parachute Theatre Company with their splendid large-scale puppet shows, Rudi Wallenda and his exploding car, Blue Moon with wonderful drama stories, Trans Form Theatre's new and fantastic promenade performance of "Alice in Wonderland", The Rhythm Project, Tip the Wink Puppets, Haggis & Charlie - jugglers extraordinaires, Booper the Clown, Booper the Clown, Nathaniel the Story Teller, Devilstick The Clown and Moses the Magician ...and there are more in the pipe line.....

The Bristol Children's Festival will be open from 12.00 noon until 6.00 p.m. on each of its 4 days. The entertainment is suitable for children of all ages, but we are not a creche, and you cannot leave your children at the site unattended unless they are at least 10, and you have spoken to us about it first. No dogs are allowed and there is no camping on site, though there are lots of camp sites and bed and breakfasts in the area - please ring Bristol Tourist Information on 01179 .....for further details.

Tickets are £6 daily for children or £4 daily for adults and under-5's, with reductions for multiple day ttickets, UB40's, children with special needs and large groups. They can be purchased on the gate on the day, or in advance by telephoning 01458 832925. Once the entrance fee is paid, all performances, workshops and activities mentioned above are free. There is so much to do that we strongly recommend a multi-day ticket.

There is a Children's World Cafe offering good, simple food at reasonable prices, a Children's World ice cream stall and a few stalls offering children's clothes, books, toys, etc.

All profits from the Glastonbury Children's Festival help fund the Children's World Charity's extensive work with children who have special needs in the West County, by paying for some of the costs of the drama, music and participative play tours we run for special schools.

This really is an exceptional event that just gets better and better every year - we do hope your family can come and join us to enjoy it!
