Children's World offers a
SCIENCE WORKSHOPfor Key Stages 1 & 2 studentsPaddy Hill and Charlie Miller first created this workshop for children at special schools, and we have now adapted it so that it is suitable for mainstream schools studying Key Stages 1 & 2. The material is presented in an unusual and amusing way, that grabs the children’s attention and enables them to learn while having great fun. “I have just sat in on the Children’s World Science Workshop featuring “Professors Cheese and Onion”, and feel compelled to write and congratulate you on your work. I have known Children’s World on and off for some 15 years, and I marvel at how your organisation has developed in that time. The Science Workshop was a truly educational experience for all of my students with special needs, aged 14 to 16, and it backed up my work on Friction, Measuring and Floating/Sinking extremely well. I was particularly impressed by how the Children’s World team leaders/actors encouraged the students to experiment, predict and estimate in such a practical but amusing way.”Class Teacher, Selworthy School Taunton. (We are also developing a MATHS WORKSHOP DAY for Key Stage 1 & 2 students, and this will be available to schools in the second half of the Autumn Term 2006. For both the Science and Maths Workshop Days 3 groups of approximately 30 children each receive a 90-minute session. £350 per day plus mileage.)
